Hi Peter,
I was on Tory on 21st and 22nd April. The most interesting birds were a Snow Bunting on the 21st which Anton first saw on the 16th, and an Egyptian Goose which flew into the east on the 22nd. It would be interesting to know where this bird came from; I can't find any other records In Ireland apart from one that Brad Robson saw in Fermanagh some years ago, so was it an escapee from a collection here or one from the feral population in England?
Here is my list:
Greylag Goose 1 on south lake on 22nd and later 2 heading north over west town.
Egyptian Goose 1 in field in east town, un-ringed and quite wary.
Brent Goose 1 on beach on 21st.
Eider 2 pairs offshore on 22nd
Golden Plover 8 in west on 21st
Dunlin 1 on 21st and 3 on 22nd
Snipe 1 seen both days
Whimbrel few both days and c.20 passing offshore on 22nd
Black-tailed Godwit 4 over west on 21st, 2 on south lake and 2 on east beach on 22nd
Black-headed Gull 2 in harbour on 21st but none on north lake
Swallow just 1 on 22nd
White Wagtail 2 on 21st, 7 on 22nd
Robin 1 on 22nd
Redwing 1 on 21st
Song Thrush 1 on 22nd
Blackcap 8 on 21st, 1 on 22nd
Chiffchaff 10 on 21st, 5 on 22nd
Willow Warbler 2 on 21st
Goldcrest 2 on 22nd
Jackdaw 1 on 22nd
Linnet 1 on 21st, 3 on 22nd
Snow Bunting female in summer plumage on 21st
Reed Bunting 1 on 22nd
Regards Chris
