21st May; Yellow Wagtail and Ferry Fiasco

http://nibirds.blogspot.ie/ reported  the following from Davey Hunter

2 Spotted Flycatcher
1 Yellow Wagtail (male)

There are a few Northern Ireland birders on Tory at the moment so hopefully some more reports over the next few days...

Myself and Gerard Murray travelled to Donegal on monday in the hope of getting out to Tory. Despite ringing the night before to find out the departure times of the ferry we missed the boat. We were on site from 7am at Bunbeg (where the boat was due to sail from, at 7.30am). No boat! So we drove to Magharoarty..No boat! We rang the contact numbers. No answer! We raced back to Bunbeg and asked a local fisherman where would we find the ferry...He rang the captain and it had departed from an unspecified third harbour (no mention on the ferry website). So be warned if travelling. Its the second time this has happened to me....its an unreliable service.
An Iceland Gull at Magharoarty (probably the Kumlien's) from last month and a Carrion Crow at Inch were about the best from a long day out.
